春秋末年，越国云坞村有个山野丫头叫阿涂，她在寻找陨铁时，意外救了身患寒疾的天下第一铸剑师欧冶子。吴王阖闾得知后，接连派出姑苏九剑去刺杀欧冶子。欧冶子和阿涂凭借机智，多次成功应对刺客的袭击。随后，他们凭借欧冶子的铸剑技术开创了龙渊剑寮，阿涂所在的云坞村也因此声名远播。阖闾邀请欧冶子参加铸剑大会，实则打算借机除掉他。欧冶子持龙渊剑与阖闾比剑，不幸落败，还传出了他身亡的消息。断剑龙渊和消失的欧冶子成了阿涂的心结。曾得到欧冶子点拨的楚国铸剑高手廉翀，此时已成为一代铸剑名师，他和阿涂携手重铸龙渊剑，并找回了欧冶子。后来吴军战败，阖闾身亡。廉翀决定仗剑天涯，阿涂则留在云坞村侍奉欧冶子直至其终老。此后，云坞村所产宝剑闻名天下，云坞村也改名为龙渊村，也就是如今的宝剑之城——浙江龙泉。
